[ Shinji often had no idea what the hell he was doing, but this situation really took the cake. The change was like a flicker, less than a blink, and he went from playing piano with one Kaworu-- one understanding Kaworu, who looked at him like he was meant to do great things and didn't judge him, but forgave him, helped him repent-- to sitting on some kind of train with a different Kaworu.
Odd to think about, really, but they were...different.
There were the physical differences, first. This one seemed to at least try and control his hair and the shape of his face wasn't as thin. There were smaller things, like the way he held his body and the way he put his hands in his pockets, but those were the major physical differences. And beyond that there was a different look in his eye.
Maybe he was imagining it. Maybe Kaworu found a comb. Maybe he ate something for once.
But it seemed doubtful.
Still dressed in his plugsuit, Shinji pulls his knees up to his chest, looking warily at the other passenger on the train. ]
K-- Nagisa-kun?
[ He tried but. He couldn't address a stranger so formally. He was tired of addressing strangers like they were his friends. ]
